How does the technology of the Oligo Scan work?

Our Oligo/Check scanning service employs advanced spectrophotometry technology to provide detailed analyses of mineral, vitamin, trace element levels, oxidative stress, and heavy metal presence in the body. This method involves measuring the absorbance or optical density of specific substances within tissue, using a precise calibration for targeted body areas.

Spectrophotometry operates on the principle that all compounds—whether chemical or mineral—interact with light (electromagnetic radiation) across specific wavelength ranges. The concentration of a sample determines the amount of light it absorbs, following the Beer-Lambert law, which states that absorption is directly proportional to concentration.

This technology is widely applied in various fields such as chemistry, pharmacy, environmental science, food processing, biology, medical and clinical diagnostics, material and chemical engineering, and more. In clinical settings, spectrophotometry is essential for analyzing blood and tissues to aid in medical diagnoses.

Why Choose Oligo Check?

Evaluation of a heavy metal excess

High levels of heavy metals in the body can pose significant health risks. Chronic exposure can lead to serious health issues such as damage to vital organs, cognitive impairments, and increased risk of various diseases, including cancer. Symptoms of heavy metal toxicity include fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, and neurological disorders. Regularly checking your heavy metal levels allows for early detection and intervention, helping to prevent these severe health outcomes and maintain overall well-being.

Assessment of the bioavailability of vitamins in tissues

Knowing the bioavailability of vitamins in your tissues is crucial for maintaining optimal health. Bioavailability refers to the extent and rate at which vitamins are absorbed and utilized by the body. When vitamins are not adequately absorbed, even a diet rich in nutrients may not provide the intended health benefits. Low bioavailability can lead to deficiencies, affecting energy levels, immune function, and overall well-being

Measure Oxidative Stress

Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in the body, leading to cell and tissue damage. This imbalance can contribute to the development of chronic conditions such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and neurodegenerative disorders. High oxidative stress levels can also accelerate the aging process and weaken the immune system. By monitoring your oxidative stress levels, you can take proactive steps to reduce oxidative damage through lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and targeted antioxidant therapies.

Monitor Deficiencies and excesses of minerals and trace elements

Ensuring optimal levels of essential minerals and trace elements is crucial as they support a wide range of bodily functions. These nutrients contribute to various aspects of health, including bone strength, immune system resilience, metabolic processes, and nerve function. Imbalances in these essential elements can lead to a host of health issues such as fatigue, weakened immunity, and impaired cognitive function. By monitoring and maintaining balanced levels of minerals and trace elements, you can promote overall well-being and ensure your body functions optimally across different physiological systems.

The Oligo/Check scanning device provides an in-depth analysis of various essential nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. This allows users to quickly identify deficiencies and imbalances, which can help tailor personalised nutrition and supplementation plans to improve overall health.

Unlike traditional blood tests, the Oligo/Check scan is non-invasive, using a simple hand-held device to measure nutrient levels through the skin. The results are available almost instantly, making it a convenient option for those who want quick and painless health assessments.

By identifying potential deficiencies and imbalances early, the Oligo/Check scan can serve as a preventive health tool. Addressing these issues before they develop into more serious health problems can lead to better long-term health outcomes and reduce the risk of chronic diseases related to nutrient deficiencies.
